Star Wars: Episode VII Stormtrooper Artist Sketch

We still have a long way to go before we sit our butts in the seats – popcorn in hand – and watch Star Wars: Episode VII, so right now we are taking whatever info we can get as it arrives. Take this with a grain of salt, but the latest rumor involves the redesign of the classic stormtroopers.

Apparently design artist Tom Hodges got a glimpse of the new stormtrooper from someone involved in the production. Since he wasn’t on set and never signed any contract, he sketched what the newly designed helmet looks like, then shared the image via Instagram. Interestingly, it has been removed since then. We will have to take his word for it along with a great big cube of salt. What do you think?

Personally we think it sucks. We don’t like this whole notion that when you are in different eras, you HAVE to update the look of things. Like how in Star Trek, the uniform has to change with every show or movie. Or how their comm badges change with each era. It makes no logical sense. You know, some things actually stay the same over time. Just our two cents.
