The Green Girl: First Trailer for Star Trek Documentary

by Kenny Hoeschen

Susan Oliver was the television guest star between 1957 and 1973. She famously appeared as the green Orion slave girl, Vina, in the pilot Star Trek episode “The Cage.”

Thanks in part to a successful Kickstarter campaign, filmmaker George Pappy has created The Green Girl, a documentary about Oliver’s prolific career. Pappy has been traveled around the country to film interviews with people who worked with or admired Oliver, including Lee Meriwether and Celeste Yarnall (both with Star Trek credentials), Roosevelt “Rosey” Grier, and with surviving members of Oliver’s family, along with many others.

The film is in select theaters now and will be coming to video soon.
