Everything Wrong With Elysium in Under 12 Minutes

by Kenny Hoeschen

Elysium was director Neill Blomkamp’s follow-up to highly regarding sci-fi film District 9. Starring Matt Damon as the would-be hero and Jodie Foster as the wealthy protagonist, Elysium didn’t capture the same magic as District 9.

CinemaSins takes a look back at the film and shares its analysis of “Everything Wrong With” Elysium in under 12 minutes. We’re glad to see they called out Jodie Foster’s bizarre accent, which seriously still haunts our nightmares. But the sins don’t end there and it turns out that the plot has so many whole you could drive a UPS truck through it. Still, we did like Sharlto Copley being a badass in the film.
