Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Prepare

Ten years pass as the Simian Flu strikes around the world, causing mankind to cripple by dissension and the epidemic’s effects. As cities deteriorate and the fabric of society dissolves, the dawn of a new era is about to begin.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes involves a group of scientists in San Francisco struggling to stay alive in the aftermath of a plague that is wiping out humanity, while Caesar (Andy Serkis) tries to maintain dominance over his community of intelligent apes. A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

The cast includes Jason Clarke, Judy Greer, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the sequel to Rupert Wyatt’s revival of the sci-fi franchise Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Directing is Matt Reeves (Let Me InCloverfield), from a screenplay written by Mark Bomback, Scott Z. Burns, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is scheduled for release on July 28, 2014.
