Blue Willow Calamitywear Plates
May 7th, 2014Artist Don Moyer has decided to reinvent the classic blue and white willow pattern dinner plate by beginning with a traditional Japanese scene containing buildings and trees and adding calamities to them. Maybe a Sasquatch, a volcano, a sea monster, a giant robot, or a UFO.
You can help him develop the new line of Calamityware and even add some to your own collection by backing his Kickstarter campaign. A pledge of just $25 gets you a 10.75″ plate with the sea monster motif. And a pledge of $250 gets you an entire st of 12 matching plates, which would be perfect the next time you host Thanksgiving with the in-laws.
You can also get individual plates from his earlier series on his Calamityware store.
