The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2 and CinemaSins travels back to Spidey’s modern, big screen debut with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst in the 2002 film Spider-Man. Whether you prefer Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, we love watching CinemaSins peel apart a blockbuster film.

It was fun to watch Spidey swing across the screen back in 2002, but those special effects are pretty dated these days. And, as CinemaSins points out, why didn’t Green Goblin just kill Spider-Man one of the many times he had the chance?
