DC Animation’s Son of Batman: Exclusive Look

by Kenny Hoeschen

DC Animation will soon be releasing a new film, Son of Batman, which introduces Damian, the son Bruce Wayne never knew he had. The story is based on a 2006 comic book storyline written by Grant Morrison in which Batman learns of the son, who has been raised by a terrorist group known as the League of Assassins.

DC All Access had the chance to visit with Son of Batman’s Jason O’Mara to discuss the film and take a look at an exclusive, never-before-seen clip, along with a talk with Charles Soule about Swamp Thing, a look at The Sandman: Overture #2 and Up at Noon’s Greg Miller stops by to count down his Top Three DC Comics Moments.

In the film Son of Batman, although Batman’s son, Damian, is just a 10-year-old boy, he comes into the storyline with the mentality of an adult. He was never treated as a child by his grandfather, who trained him to fight. The film includes Thomas Gibson (Criminal Minds) as Deathstroke, Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) as Ra’s al Ghul, Morena Baccarin (FireflyHomeland) as Talia al Ghul, Jason O’Mara (Terra Nova) as Batman, and Stuart Allan as Damian Wayne.

Son of Batman will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download later this spring.
