March of Robots!: A Kickstarter Art Book Project
March 11th, 2014Vancouver artist, Dacosta, has launched a Kickstarter project to bring his terrific robot illustrations to the printed page. The book will be an 80-page softcover using art-quality paper and measuring 7.75″ x 10″. Dacosta’s robots range from cute and cuddly to intimidating mechs. In addition to the book, the project will have a digital component by incorporating an “augmented reality” portion involving a collaboration with 3D modelers and animators. By downloading a free companion app, participants will be able to view animated 3D models and other elements of select images through your smartphone or tablet cameras.
A pledge of $30 gets you a printed and a digital copy of March of Robots! If you bump up to $75 you’ll also receive an 8″x 10″ robot print and a cool Kickstarter-edition t-shirt.
Dacosta’s artwork is really great and we love just about anything with robots, so get over to Kickstarter and join the project today. The Kickstarter funding ends on April 14, 2014.
