Godzilla: Gareth Edwards Breaks Down the Trailer

Empire had the chance to sit down with Godzilla director Gareth Edwards and discuss everything found in the epic Godzilla trailer we saw last week. Edwards walks through each scene in the trailer and explains what we’re seeing on screen. He keeps a couple details to himself, but he even addresses some of what fans have been speculating online.

Godzilla is being directed by Edwards (Monsters) and is based on a screenplay written by Drew Pearce, Max Borenstein and Frank Darabont. The cast also includes Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Elizabeth Olsen (Oldboy), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass 2), David Strathairn (The Bourne Legacy, Good Night, and Good Luck) and Juliette Binoche (The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The English Patient, Chocolat). “An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.”

Godzilla arises from the depths yet again on May 16, 2014.
