Pacific Rim, ILM: Creating the Hong Kong Battle

Pacific Rim’s biggest battle was probably the one that occurred in Hong Kong between Becket’s and Mori’s Gypsy Danger and the Kaijus Otachi and Leatherback. It was such an imposing battle that the special effects wizards at Industrial Light & Magic left it until last to shoot.

We get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into this intense battle, including the battle among the shipping containers, Gypsy’s fist punching halfway through an office building, and the freighter Gypsy used as a baseball bat.
