Aaron Diaz Interprets J.R.R. Tolkien’s Worlds

Aaron Diaz, the artist behind the wonderful online comic series, Dresden Codak has turned his artistic talent to the world of J.R.R. Tolkien. Diaz has been creating his own interpretation of Tolkien’s world as part of his Silmarillion Project in order to provide a more diverse view of Tolkien’s works.
Diaz’s goal is to create a painted illustration to accompany every chapter in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Silmarillion, as well as provide supplementary illustrations to round out the characters and world in general. As he states, a second motivation is to provide a greater representation of women and people of color in the narratives.
