In honor of Doctor Who’s 50th, physicist Martin Archer at Head Squeeze looks at the villains of Doctor Who and helps us consider whether we should be truly frightened of their abilities — from a purely scientific viewpoint. Beginning with the Weeping Angels and their ability to protect themselves by turning to stone, considering the Cybermen and their weakness to gold, and finally looking at the powerful Daleks with their death rays.
