We’ve seen video of the locations used during the filming of the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies; we’ve seen the journey the Fellowship took to Mordor; and we’ve seen the Lord of the Rings travel posters. Now we have an infographic from Cheapflights to share showing where in New Zealand the various locations in the trilogies were filmed. From The Shire, which was filmed in Matamata on the North Island to the Putangirua Pinnacles near Wellington, which is the Paths of the Dead in the films, to Te Anua (the Dead Marshes), if you dare.
