How Do Spacesuits Work? James May Explains

by Kenny Hoeschen

British television host (Top Gear), writer, and all-around geek, James May tells us the dirty details of what is required to make a real spacesuit and how they work to keep astronauts alive in the otherwise deathly realm of space.

Interestingly, as with quite a few inventions, spacesuits were first conceived of in science fiction writing. Also, it seems if you want a spacesuit of your own, you’ll be looking at something around $12,000,000 to get one. A little spendy for our blood.
