The Death of the Sun: Through the Wormhole

In this short video from the Science Channel program, Through the Wormhole, host Morgan Freeman looks at the death of our Sun. As the Sun begins to burn helium, the intense heat generated in its core will blast away some of its outer layers resulting in a loss of mass. In 7.5 billion years, the Sun will have lost 1/3 of its mass. Because of Earth’s gravitational pull on the Sun, it seems we are doomed.
