The Decelerators: Friends Learn to Stop Time

by Kenny Hoeschen

This short science fiction film tells the intriguing story of a group of friends who, concerned that time is slipping away, invent machines — “Decelerators” — that allow each individual to choose a place and time in which to stop their own personal time. This lovely film explores some of the emotional, personal, and selfish questions surrounding this ability.

The film was directed by Mark Slutsky. We’ve also included a short Vfx reel of the animation of the Decelerator below.
