Scientific American: Five Amazing Exoplanets

by Kenny Hoeschen

Scientists have already confirmed over 800 exoplanets. With so many exoplanets swimming around out in space, keeping the public’s interest can be difficult. Fortunately, Scientific American’s web series, The Countdown, presents the five of the most fascinating exoplanets discovered, and it is crazy what they find.

Did you know there’s a planet where glass rains down sideways with winds of over 4,000 mph! Or what about a planet that may contain a layer of pure diamonds?

It’s just too bad we can’t come up with better names for these exoplanets.
