First Trailer for The Death of Superman Lives

The Death of Superman Lives is a Kickstarter-funded documentary that examines the never finished feature film that was to have been directed by Tim Burton and starring Nicolas Cage as Superman entitled Superman Lives. The feature-length documentary is produced and directed by Jon Schnepp (Metalocalypse, Grimm Fairy Tales Animated, Venture Bros.).

The documentary aims to collect every piece of information available about the failed superhero effort Superman Lives, the film that would have been directed by Tim Burton and starring Nicolas Cage as the Man of Steel. The film has become legend since writer Kevin Smith described the project in great detail on one of his extensive An Evening with Kevin Smith programs, explaining that villains like Brainiac, Doomsday and Lex Luthor would all have been featured. Schnepp will talk to the screenwriter for the film, Wesley Strick and Grant Morrison, who is a Superman comic book writer. And he’s trying to talk to Tim Burton and Kevin Smith.
