Joss Whedon Discusses Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD
September 21st, 2013Science fiction favorite Joss Whedon, who happens to be an executive producer of ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, discussed the series and the SHIELD team’s role in the Marvel universe, Agent Coulson’s return from the dead, and more in this interview. The idea behind it was embodied by Clark Gregg’s role as the little guy, who doesn’t have any superpowers, yet lives in a world where he must stop supervillains.
From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (Firefly, Marvel’s The Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. begins this fall on ABC. The rest of Coulson’s team are Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage and Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist. Joining them on their journey into mystery are Agents Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge).
In the series, Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. begins on September 24 on ABC. Time to set your DVR.
