Tetra Vaal: A 2004 Short Film by Neill Blomkamp

by Kenny Hoeschen

Tetra Vaal is a short film from 2004 directed by Neill Blomkamp, who later went on to direct the full-length science fiction films District 9 and Elysium.

Tetra Vaal is a a faux advertisement for a third-world robotic police and certainly has a District 9 feel to it, with the people living in destitute conditions while lorded over by the authorities, in this case the robots.

Be sure to also check out Blomkamp’s short film, Yellow, from 2006.
