We Choose the Moon: Relive the Apollo 11 Mission

This incredible, interactive website recreates the historic July 16, 1969 Apollo 11 Mission during which American astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins traveled to orbit around the Moon and Neil Armstrong become the first human to set foot on the surface.

The recreation includes the actual audio from mission control, photos and video clips from each stage of the mission, from pre-launch assembly and rollout, through LEM ejection to the moon landing and return to Earth. At many stages, you can select to move the camera and see a different virtual view of the mission at that point.

This is worth spending some time on and sharing with your children. What a moving tribute to brave men and women and recognition of an historic moment in mankind’s history.
