Yellow: A 2006 Short Film by Neill Blomkamp

by Kenny Hoeschen

Yellow is a short film from 2006 directed by Neill Blomkamp, who later directed District 9 and Elysium.

Adidas creates a film series celebrating color, customization and personal expression. Each director was given a blank canvas to create a short film based on their emotional and creative response to a given color – Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink, Black or White. This film Yellow by Neill Blomkamp illustrates what happens when a thinking machine integrates with society. The spot begins with a man stopping by the prone body of a uniformed soldier. The voiceover, by Slovakian Dušan Marušák, fills us in on what’s happening, taking us on a tour of a robotics factory.
