What is the Ghostbusters Firehouse Worth?
August 19th, 2013

When Doctors Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, and Egon Spengler began their ghostbusting business, they were scratching together any sort of money they could for the necessary equipment, the Ecto-1 Ghostbusters mobile, and the firehouse they used as their headquarters and for safekeeping of captured ghosts, spirits and haunts. The Movoto real estate blog looks at what that old firehouse would be worth in today’s market and, although Zuul himself wouldn’t be able to afford this place, Donald Trump could purchase it with his walking-around money.
In the film, Egon tells us that the firehouse is 9,642.55 square feet. Given that it’s in New York City and comparable properties are valued at $1,630 per square foot, the firehouse comes out at a spooky $15,717.356. No word on potential loss in value due to poltergeists in the basement. Of course, 9,000 square feet is a lot of space to keep clean. Fortunately, “dusting makes me feel good!”
