What if Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Were Good?

by Kenny Hoeschen

Michael Barryte of Belated Media created this look at a rewrite to Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Barryte reworks and re-edits Attack of the Clones in order to emphasize the intertwining of the story with that of the original trilogy and to make us care more about the characters and the relationships between the characters. After all, Attack of the Clones is where we first have a chance to see Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi back when they were friends. And the story never really makes us care about Anakin. And we also get to see Uncle Owen Lars meeting Anakin Skywalker, which explains why Luke Skywalker ends up living with Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru.

This is probably an even more epic telling of a Star Wars story than Patton Oswalt’s Parks and Recreation story. Barryte’s retellings stay true to the premise the he is a studio executive making tweaks the already existing screenplay.

Barryte’s take on the rewrite to Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace is embedded below, if you need to catch up.
