Everything Wrong with Independence Day

CinemaSins have given us some great looks at the sins of science fiction films before: Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Superman Returns, Men In Black 3, X-Men and X2: X-Men United, and Godzilla (1998). Here they look at the sins of 1996 Will Smith film, Independence Day.

This movie had so many logic flaws it was hard to watch without walking out of the theater. Any geek worth his or her TI pocket calculator nearly choked on buttery movie popcorn when Jeff Goldblum interfaced with the alien computers and implanted a virus or when Will Smith somehow knew how to pilot the alien spacecraft. Yet, whenever this show is back on TV, we always watch a few minutes of it. Maybe it’s like watching a car wreck, you just can’t look away.
