Elysium: Matt Damon Would Rather Talk to a Human

Matt Damon struggles to deal with the worst sort of bureaucratic nightmare when he must deal with a social services droid in this latest clip for Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium. As we saw previously, the droids of Elysium are a key part of Blomkamp’s vision for the world of Elysium.

Elysium is set in the year 2159 in a world where the very wealthy live a life of peace on a man-made space station called Elysium that hovers above Earth and all the rest live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Matt Damon’s character, Max, is determined to break into Elysium, which also happens to be the most heavily guarded place in the universe. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster) is tasked with protecting Elysium from nonresidents and threats like Max.

Elysium hits U.S. theaters on August 9.
