Matt Damon and Jodie Foster Discuss Elysium
July 17th, 2013Writer/Director Neill Blomkamp, along with actors Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, discuss the premise of the film Elysium and the world in which the film is set. Elysium is set in the year 2159 in a world where the very wealthy live a life of peace on a man-made space station called Elysium that hovers above Earth and all the rest live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Matt Damon’s character, Max, is determined to break into Elysium, which also happens to be the most heavily guarded place in the universe. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster) is tasked with protecting Elysium from nonresidents and threats like Max.
