Must Watch: The Adjustable Cosmos
July 13th, 2013In this delightful animated short film, Frederick III, Holy Emperor of Germany, is asked to lead the war against Constantinople. When Frederick’s astrologer reads the stars, he finds that doom lies ahead for Frederick. It seems the only hope is to embark on the first Viennese Space Mission, launched on March 10, 1453, and adjust the stars to a more favorable position. As the astrologer puts it: the stars are disposed against us, but why must we sit by and let them dictate our fate? Why do we not lift ourselves among them and change them to our favor?
Follow the journey of Frederick and his cohorts as they lift themselves past the Moon, Mercury and the Sun on their way to the Roof of Heaven in this wonderful tale of adventure through the geocentric solar system. The film is based on the short story Space Operetta by Australian sci-fi author Adam Browne.
