How Will the World End? The Science Explained

There’s almost nothing that could destroy Earth as we know it, although there are a number of events that could greatly damage our ecosystem and even wipe out humans. Our biggest threat comes from the Sun which will one day become a red giant. The Sun will either consume Earth or Earth will continue to exist in a cold, dead solar system. In the latter case, the dead Earth could exist as a planet for years and years and years and may even last essentially forever.
