by Kenny Hoeschen
Star Wars to be Translated into Navajozoom in

Dave and Amanda Nezzie, a married couple from Albuquerque, first met and fell in love while sharing their love of Star Wars. Now the couple are looking forward to introducing Star Wars to their children translated into Dave’s native Navajo language. Navajo families help with the translation will help to promote and preserve their language. Manuelito Wheeler, director of the Navajo Nation Museum, got the ball rolling when he approached the Navajo Nation and Lucasfilm.

The premiere of the Navajo-language Star Wars will take place at the Navajo Nation Fair in Window Rock, Arizona. At this time, Lucasfilm has no plans for a wider theatrical release or DVD version of Star Wars in Navajo.
