Flying Solo: BBC Film on George Lucas

by Kenny Hoeschen

BBC Omnibus created George Lucas: Flying Solo in 1997 to coincide with the 1997 Star Wars Special Editions. The film profiles the director as he discusses his formative years, as well as clips and insight into his 16mm short films, Look at LifeHerbie, and Freiheit. With rare behind-the-scenes footage and commentary by Francis Ford Coppola, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Ron Howard. The film discusses Lucas’s approach to film making and the expectations as Star Wars was created and first entered the theaters.
