The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Trailer

After sleeping on a giant bed of gold for centuries like a lazy gibbon, Smaug is awoken from his slumber by a small Hobbit going by the name of Bilbo Baggins. The first trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug has finally been released. In this clip, we see Bilbo (Martin Freeman, Gandalf (Ian McKellen), and the Dwarves as they journey to the Lonely Mountain to reclaim the Dwarven city within. We also see Orlando Bloom returning as Legolas and the introduction of Evangeline Lilly as the Elf, Tauriel. But, perhaps most significantly, our first look at Peter Jackson’s vision for Smaug the Magnificent, the dragon guarding the vast treasure under the mountain.
