After Earth Clip: Retrieve the Beacon

This exclusive clip from M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth shows Cypher (played by Will Smith) discussing his son’s retrieval of a beacon that is necessary for their very survival. Cypher’s son, Kitai (played by Smith’s son, Jaden Smith) doesn’t necessarily seem to be looking forward to the mission.

In the film, a crash landing leaves Kitai Raige and his legendary father, Cypher, stranded on Earth, 1,000 years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. Father and son must work together and trust one another if they want any chance of returning home.

The movie will be in theaters on May 31.
