Making of Iron Man 3 Special Effects

Method Studios and Digital Domain have released three videos showing off the special effects they did for Iron Man 3. Above we’ve embedded the first clip showing Maya’s (Stephanie Szostak) plants and Savin (James Badge Dale) melting the leg of the water tower. You can also view clips with the animation of the Iron Patriot armor and Air Force One below. We find it incredible the number of items that are added to the film after shooting, like the snow on the ground in the melting water tower scene or that James Badge Dale wasn’t wearing any armor whatsoever when the Iron Patriot scene was shot but that it was all animated after.
