The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Daleks

by Kenny Hoeschen

Andrew Orton created this wonder tribute to the classic Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy BBC television series with narration in the style of Peter Jones, the voice of the Guide in the BBC series. What would the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy have to say about the subject of Daleks? According to Orton: “Stay Away. Really, Stay Away.”

The Guide also reveals interesting information about the origination of the Daleks and their creator, Davros. As it turns out, Daleks were created on the planet Skaro, which, apparently, is known primarily to be a “grey, stairless wasteland.” Orton does a terrific job of following the style of the original BBC TV series, right down to the animation of the Guide’s entries and the voiceover narration.
