Astronaut Al Worden: The Loneliest Human Being
April 8th, 2013

The BBC interviews Al Worden, the most isolated human in all eternity. Worden is one of seven men in history who orbited the Moon alone while his colleagues walked on the lunar surface. These men were farther from Earth than anyone ever before or since. Turns out Worden didn’t find it lonely at all and, in fact, enjoyed the peace and quiet, saying “On the backside of the Moon, I didn’t even have to talk to Houston and that was the best part of the flight.”
