Just How Far is Mars from Earth?

David Paliwoda put this graphical representation together (with help from Jesse Williams) showing the relative distance from Earth to the Moon and on to Mars measured in the displayed pixels. Click through to see for yourself just how far it is to Mars in this simulated flight. It’s a bit sobering to see just how much farther it is than travel to the Moon.
