C: 299,792 km/s: A Science Fiction Short

by Kenny Hoeschen

A recent Vimeo Short of the Week, C: 299,792 km/s is a science fiction short filmed with reference to the style of earlier science fiction films and television series of the 1970’s and 1980’s. It’s a simple story of Lieutenant Commander Malleck and her cohort of ship’s engineers who plot to overthrow the chain of command aboard their ship, the Kestros IV. Her wish, to harness the ship’s advanced weapon for a grand new purpose.

We especially like the philosopher scientist who sets the stage for the film and reminds us of Carl Sagan describing the wonders of our universe. “As long as we inhabit a single planet; a single star, mankind remains vulnerable to extinction.”
